In "Should 16-year-olds drive?" Ted Gregory explores that it's unsafe for teens of the age of 16 to be able to drive. Most of the people who were interviewed about this agreed that it's a bad idea.
This passage includes quotes from teens, teachers, experts, and everyday people. Ted Gregory also pulls facts from another state. One fact that stood out to me was "The example the institute uses most prominently is New Jersey, the only state with a minimum driver's license age of 17." this quote shows that in some states teens can get a diver's license at the age of 16, but only in New Jersey you have to be 17.
I think driving at the age of 16 is a benefit to teens and parents. Driving can open the world up to you and let you explore places you never been to on your own. Most teens would agree with me because they're ready to be independent. However, adults/parents wont agree because they believe we will put our self in more trouble; better yet danger.
This article made me think about how many teens are on the road now without license. Most adults are aware of this action but aren't doing anything about it. This causes more teens every year too lose their life.

In "Marijuana law just creates criminals" Hakeem Jeffries explores that in New York City they spend $75 million each year arresting people because they recreated marijuana. The passage stated "More than 50,000 people in 2011 were arrested in New York City for possessing small amounts of marijuana."
The passage includes quotes from governors. Gov. Andrew Cuomo points out that he wants to reduce the possession of marijuana. one quote that stood out to me was "The possession of small quantities of marijuana is either a crime or it is not." This quote shows that people are confused about the idea of having marijuana or not.
I think people should be allowed to have or use marijuana. It sometimes help people; for example if someone is going threw a hard they take drugs to keep that situation out of their head. Most people don't think that way, they believe people always use drugs to high and under the influence.
This article made me think about a time when everyone got on my nerves and i wanted them to leave me alone. I didn't take marijuana but i listened to music to keep that situation out my head. When i did that i noticed that i was only paying attention to the lyrics of the music.

In " Yay! Boo! So? Reactions to Obama win vary", Peter Mucha reveals the different thoughts from people about Obama winning the campaign. Most people were disappointed that Obama won, others were happy , and some didn't care or didn't like either candidate.
The article includes quotes from voters that took the side of either Obama or Romney. One quote that stood out to me was, " I knew Barack was going to win, I think he's more trustworthy. He seems more of a people person.", said Jackie Harrison, 45.This quote shows that she didn't really need to worry about Obama losing because he has done a lot for people. So why wouldn't they vote for him?
Another quote that seemed to stand out was , "I'm not happy, I haven't had a job in over a year!"said Chuck Rihl , 51. He didn't want Obama to win because he was suppose to have people working , but it's clear that he didn't keep that in mind.
One question that I always think about when it comes to Obama is: did you only vote for him because he's the first black pesident?

In " Will Climate Change Get Some Respect Now " , Nicholas D. Kristof explains that we should talk more about the climate , and not only the weather . Since carbon emissions are rising , scientists believe that it could cause weather like the hurricane " Sandy " more likely .
This article has quotes from experts and scientists .The writer Nicholas includes facts from computers as well . a statement that stood out to me the most was, " Computer models suggest that hurricanes wont necessarily become more frequent , but they will become more stronger."
I think this is a good topic to write about because its true that we need to focus on climate more weather . The climates are starting to cause more snow storms and hurricanes . This is not good because how will people get to school or work . Most of us rely on public transportation , and we wont be able to use it because it will shut down .
The article makes my mind wonder to why people don't really focus on climate . Isn't it just as important as the weather ? Do experts or scientists think about that people need to know in order to plan for it ? I would like to interview an expert about their thoughts on people aren't focusing on the climate , and what should be done about it .

Attention Disorder or Not , Pills to Help in School
There are pills being to help children focus with A.D.H.D. Its also being used as an excuse to help with " poor academic performance in inadequate schools ". The pills are mainly used for the students that don't focus on what their suppose to do in school . The pill makes them sit down and pay attention , then to have their mind wondering on something less important then school work . " they are prescribing stimulants to struggling students in schools starved of extra money - not to treat A.D.H.D. , necessarily , but to boost their academic performance ". This quote shows that the schools weren't using the extra money for A.D.H.D , but just to help their education improve .

In October of 2011 the prices for " Jiff Peanut Butter " increased to about 24 percent . I'm not sure if that was good idea or not , but i will explain on both sides . Jiff peanut butter is great for an after noon snack for your child after a long 7 or 8 hour day at school . Or even for your child's lunch at school .I don't think the jiff peanut butter should have raised 24 percent for two reasons . One its just peanut butter , not milk s, something that you use everyday , . Two people don't usually use peanut . I have been to plenty of people's homes and i don't usually find peanut butter when looking for a snack . An everyday usage is milk . People tend to use milk everyday for : drinking , cooking , and maybe other reasons as well . There's one reason why i do think the jiff peanut butter raising 24 percent was a good , its name brand .Making name brands food for people to use costs a lot of money so i could understand why they would raise it .

In " Studies Find More Students Cheating , With High Achievers No Exception " by Richard Perez Pena , the author reveals that in the last year or so there is much cheating goin on inmcompetitive schools .The Cheating could be beacuse of behavior and attitudes . Higher students tend to do the same as their peers .The author says ,"...there is evidence that the problem has worsened over the last few decades . "Cheating now a days seem to become easier to do.This article has quotes from experts , parents , and school officals to show or prove that cheating has worsened over the years in top schools .One quote that stood out to me is ," Large scale cheating has been uncovered the last year at some of the nation's most competitive schools...". This quote shows that even students that has great grades and participation are even cheating .I believe that cheating is a big deal . Students study and try their hardest to receive the grades they great ,and are just coping what they do . So they are just taking their peers credit . Unfair right ? Why do people cheat ? Is it easier than just to study ? Are you taking what you are cheating off of ? Think next time you cheat .
In the short passage "Texting May Be Taking a Toll" , Katie Hafner, the writer , discover that texting leads to : less sleep , falling grades ,cramps in thumbs , and is also a huge distraction during school hours .It is stated that " American teenagers sent and received an average of 2,272 text messages per month .... "In this short passage it includes quotes from teenagers telling how parents are being hypocrisy about their children texting .That detail stood out to me because I believe its true, one minute parents are yelling at their kids then the next their doing exactly what their child was doing .I honestly think this is not a serious topic . Teenagers are just being their self and doing what they do best .
